What to experience in the Val d'Orcia region
This is the ideal getaway for those who love rural regions with great landscape views, small historic towns, spas and superb Tuscan wines
Guests of the country house can choose between a large variety of activities during their stay. They can visit the different villages of Siena (such as Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia), rich with history and art. Or guests can also organize hiking excursions into the forests of the Orcia Valley Natural Park, or the nature preserves of the Mount Amiata. Obviously, many guests take advantage of our close location to Montalcino to visit the different vineyards that produce the famous “Brunello di Montalcino” red wine. In less than 30 minutes by car you can also reach the vineyards in Montepulciano where another important Tuscan wine is produced, the “Nobile di Montepulciano”.
Thermal baths
Just a few kilometres from the country house
The thermal baths of Bagni San Filippo and Bagno Vignoni are another big attraction in the region. The source of these natural baths is the surrounding area of the Mount Amiata, the highest inactive volcano in Italy. The nearest thermal baths to the apartments are the baths of Bagno Vignoni and those in the village of Bagni San Filippo. The thermal village of Bagno Vignoni is unique in that its main square is entirely filled with hot water, creating a large natural thermal bath. This fantastic attraction is only 10 minutes away by car from the country house. It is also easy to reach the baths of Chianciano, Montepulciano and San Casciano dei Bagni from our location.
